Cored Wire

We offer cored wire for inclusion shape control (Ca-bases wires) and for adjusting of steel chemical properties to get required steel quality (FeTi, FeB, FeV, FeNb) for in-ladle metallurgy.
Structurally the cored wire is made up of two components only i.e. a steel jacket & an additive core. The steel strip is used as a vehicle for the additive core to descend it into the liquid steel safely. In steel industries often the term “cored wire” in conjunction with a prefix like alloy, mineral, metallurgical, refining etc. because of its appearance, contents, applications, and also to differentiate it from cored wire used for other applications like in welding, optical fiber etc.
Using of cored wire in steel production process enables to introduce variety of elements which are either light, reactive or easily oxidized into the liquid steel: adding these elements deep into the ladle minimizes oxidation by air and slag, increases the time and surface area of contact with the liquid steel and therefore delays vaporization and increases efficiency.
